Magokoro Teahouse

Located in Chiang Mai, Thailand, the Magokoro Teahouse & Matcha Cafe is part of the Meejai Hai Matcha group. It is a 4.5 star rated cafe in a prime location near Wat Chai Mong Khon. It’s a Japanese specialty teahouse and confectionery store, with a small, but friendly staff. It’s also the only place in Chiang Mai that serves the highly coveted Matcha Latte.

The cafe has a well designed garden in the rear of the establishment, with a white curtain that allows the sun to spill into the room. There are also dry flowers in vases surrounding the building. It’s certainly a pleasant place to sip tea, relax and read a book.

Old House Cafe

Located in Chiang Mai’s ancient city, the Old House Cafe has a homey feel. The building started as a white wooden house and was transformed into a cafe. The quaint cafe is rarely crowded.

The building was originally the residence of the Japanese commander. It was later used as a hotel and restaurant. In 1917, the British Consulate built a new building to replace the old one. The building remained a focal point for the society of Chiang Mai. During World War II, the building was closed.
