The 2022 FINA Swimming World Cup kicks-off in Berlin (GER) on Friday October 21st for a three-day action-packed 25m swimming event until Sunday October 23rd. Heats will be held in the morning from 08:30 and finals in the evening from 19:00.

FINA Swimming & Diving World Cup 2022 – Berlin (GER)

One World Cup is great – two World Cups are better! For the first time in history, the FINA Swimming World Cup and thr FINA Diving World Cup will be held in parallel at the same venue from October 20 – 23, 2022 in the SSE arena in Berlin – an innovative multi-sport format at international level that sets new standards. In the fall of 2022, Berlin will become the world capital of swim sport.

Fans will have even more opportunities to see the world’s best swimmers and divers live. In swimming, a total of 34 disciplines will be held on the short 25m course over three days (Friday to Sunday), with the heats in the morning and the finals in the evening. The athletes will receive points for their performances; whoever collects the most points over the course of the event will win this World Cup stop. In between, the diving finals will take place at noon and in the afternoon – the preliminaries will be held here already on Thursday. In total, nine disciplines are on the program for the diving competitions.

Diving platforms and springboards join the aquatics party in Berlin as the German capital will host the FINA Diving World Cup during the same extended October weekend (20th-23rd) as it holds the FINA Swimming World Cup 2022 series opener.

Berlin will feature four individual events (Men 3m Springboard and 10m Platform; Women 3m Springboard and 10m Platform), four synchronised events (Men Synchro 3m and 10m; Women Synchro 3m and 10m), and the Team event.

The total prize purse for the Berlin event is USD $159,000, paid to the top-six places in the individual events and top-three places in the synchro and team events.

On the four days of competition in Berlin, a total of nine events (3m, 10m, synchronized and team) will be held in water diving and 34 events in swimming on the short course (25m), with a total of more than 300,000 US dollars in prize money.
