For those of you who don’t live in Austin, Texas, Cinemark Hollywood Movies 20 might not be familiar to you. Well, now that you know about this incredible theater, it’s time to check it out and see why Austinites love going there so much! Here are three of our favorite reasons this place rocks.
Get Out
If you want to see a movie, but don’t want to pay a fortune for it, Cinemark Hollywood Movies 20 is where you need to go. This theater has been operating since 1997 and has consistently been voted as one of the best theaters in the country. You can find movies that are currently in theaters or movies that have just left theaters.
It’s also an excellent place to take your family since they offer discounted tickets for children under 12 and seniors over 60 years old. Cinemark Hollywood Movies 20 offers Dolby Digital Surround Sound, stadium seating with leather-upholstered seats and high-definition digital projectors on all screens.
The Florida Project
I’d been meaning to see this film for a while, but it never seemed to be in theaters when I wanted to. Luckily, the Cinemark Hollywood Movies 20 showings are always showing new releases! I was there a little early so that I could grab some concessions before it started and had no problem finding a seat; once everyone else started coming in, though, I realized there were only five seats left! It made me feel kind of bad because they didn’t have any more movies at this theater and people seemed disappointed.
But hey, that just means more seats for me when I come back next time! My movie-going experience at the Cinemark Hollywood Movies 20 theater was awesome. My favorite part might have been how comfortable my chair was or how close I felt to the screen, which really enhanced my viewing experience! There’s nothing like having room for your knees, you know? Plus, if you’re anything like me and you go to movies by yourself sometimes, it can be really nice knowing that someone will call on you if you need help with anything during the movie or afterward.
Call Me by Your Name
You’re not going to want to miss Call Me by Your Name in cinemark hollywood movies 20. Set in 1980s Italy, this queer coming-of-age story tells the story of Elio and Oliver, two friends who become more than just friends. This beautifully filmed movie follows Elio’s first love in a time before we had a word for it. Reviewers say that director Luca Guadagnino gives such tenderness and sensitivity to an otherwise challenging subject matter. There is one scene where Oliver (played by Armie Hammer) touches Elio (played by Timothée Chalamet) intimately.
if you’ve ever been touched like that before, then you’ll know how intimate yet complicated it can be. It really makes you think about how there are no right answers when it comes to our feelings towards intimacy and sex. Plus, there’s also food! Even though they never eat on screen (it was shot on location in northern Italy), they sure do talk about eating all the time! What else can I say? I guess we should go see Call Me by Your Name at Cinemark Hollywood Movies 20 because…cinemark hollywood movies 20!
The Shape of Water
December 10th was a special night for me and my family. I had the opportunity to take my son to see his first movie in theaters. We saw The Shape of Water. It was a visually stunning movie that captured all our attention from beginning to end. A lot of movies today are either too scary or not kid friendly, so it is refreshing to finally find one that is both fun and exciting for kids and adults alike! This is just one example as to why Cinemark Hollywood Movies 20 is such an amazing place.
Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri
There are few things more powerful than a mother’s love for her child. This is what fuels Mildred Hayes, played brilliantly by Frances McDormand, in Three Billarts Outside Ebbing, Missouri. Mildred has lost her daughter to a brutal attack and is now fighting for justice in her daughter’s murder case. She rents three billboards that show pictures of her daughter alongside messages about how the police have not solved the crime.
The Greatest Showman
Based on the true story of P. T. Barnum and his creation, The Greatest Show on Earth. This film is a spectacle that fits with its namesake. With Hugh Jackman as Barnum, this movie is a must-see for all ages. It’s filled with song and dance numbers that are second to none, as well as a powerful message about acceptance and inclusion all while showcasing some amazing circus talent. Go see it now!
Molly’s Game:
Molly Bloom has risen to become one of the world’s most elite poker players in part because she sees poker not as gambling but rather strategy. However, her lifestyle catches up with her when she accidentally sets in motion events that lead to years in prison. Her memoir is fascinating and beautifully written. Though it may seem like an unlikely choice, I found myself captivated by Bloom’s complex mind and how fate plays into her choices throughout her life. I would recommend it if you’re interested in both human nature and entertaining storytelling.
