Since when does a cold winter night, hot cocoa, fuzzy rugs and a warm cosy bed sound bad to you? I’m pretty sure a room like this is everyone’s dream. The start and end of your day are on your bed. This is where you will either get a restful nap or barely any sleep at all. Keeping your bedroom neat and cosy could help with your sleeping patterns and ensure you have a good night’s sleep. Here are a few ways for you to make your bed extremely cosy:

1.      Updated Bedding

With changing seasons, bedding needs to be changed up too. For summer nights you can have soft linen bedding on your bed. And then your winter nights should have thick Dunas and darker coloured bedding available. Thicker sheets are generally cosier than the softer ones which are more suitable for the summertime.

2.      Mattress Topper

There are mattress toppers made out of feathers and different types of foam. Such as memory foam or egg crate foam. These types of toppers can add an element of comfort that the mattress alone cannot do. This is especially effective if you have bought a new mattress, as they are usually harder.

3.      The Right Sheets

Flannel sheets will make sure you are arising from sleep or going to sleep at the optimum level of cosy and comfortable. The sheets are beautifully soft against your skin and can add a sense of texture to your bed. Forget the thread count and test out fabric samples to see what feels the most comfortable for you and what is best for your bed.

4.      The Right Pillows

There are various pillows on the market with different levels of firmness or fluffiness. Your pillows should be chosen according to your sleeping positions for a great night’s sleep. For instance, if you sleep on your side get a firm pillow, if on your stomach choose a soft pillow and if on your back find a balanced medium pillow.

5.      A Great Comforter

A quality down comforter will feel airy, warm and weightless. You could feel as if you are being embraced on all sides. If you want to wake up in an atmosphere of warmth and comfort the right comforter is the way to go. Make sure to fold the comforter in a Z shape as this will ensure a burst of hue in your room once you are out of bed and be placed in a convenient place when it is time for you to sleep.

6.      A Headboard

If you like to sit up in bed and do some work or read, you should consider purchasing a headboard for your bed. A padded headboard is the best way to go for a level of comfort suitable for leaning. You do not need an expert to install it as it is easy to do it by yourself. All you need is a clean wooden board, comfy fabric, a staple gun and extra padding.

Keep your bedroom nice and cosy at all times by using these tips.
