The Lahore 2022 Commonwealth Games are an upcoming multi-sport
event for athletes from the Commonwealth of Nations. The games are scheduled to
be held in Lahore, Pakistan from 19 November to 4 December 2022. It will be the
first time that the Commonwealth Games will be held in Pakistan and the second
time they will be held in Asia after Delhi, India hosted them in 2010.
Pakistan was selected as the host nation at the 2018 Commonwealth Games
Federation General Assembly in Gold Coast, Australia on 5 September 2018. This
followed a bidding process in which Lahore was shortlisted as one of the three
candidate cities, alongside Edmonton in Canada and Durban in South Africa.
Lahore was selected as the host city after a vote by members of the Commonwealth
Games Federation on 21 September 2018.
The announcement was made by Dame Louise Martin, President of Commonwealth
Games Federation, at a press conference following the conclusion of the general
assembly. The games will feature 23 sports disciplines including athletics,
aquatics (swimming, diving and synchronised swimming), badminton, boxing , lawn
bowls , netball , rugby sevens , shooting and weightlifting . Squash and
wrestling have also been provisionally added to the programme subject to approval
from sport’s international federations .

Today Match in Lahore The Lahore Qalandars will take on the
Islamabad United in the 10th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at the Gaddafi Stadium. The match is scheduled to start at 8:00 pm local time (3:00 pm
GMT).
This will be the second encounter between these two sides in this edition of
the PSL. In their previous meeting, which was held on February 12th, Islamabad
had emerged victorious by 7 wickets. However, both teams have changed a lot
since then and it would be interesting to see how they fare against each other
