Information about Health and Wellness Centers (HWCs)
After the launch of the scheme the government also announced the construction of health and wellness centers in the entire country at different locations in February 2018. The Health and Wellness centers were not a completely new approach as it was decided that the existing Sub centers and Primary Health Centers will be transformed into the Health and Wellness Centres that people can use for Comprehensive Primary Health Care which is also known as CPHC.
Information about Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY)
PM-JAY alias for Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana is the second component that is very important for the Ayushman Bharat and that is why it is equally important to know about the same.
The PM-JAY was launched in September 2018, some months after the launch of HWCs by the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi himself, and the scheme aims to provide health insurance to every family in the country so that they can use it whenever they have the need for the same. The largest insurance scheme in the world provides a health cover of 5 lakhs to every family in the country who are in need of the same and also secondary and tertiary care for them in hospitals across the country.
