1. The Strand

The Strand is one of those locations which are too charming to resist. It is the Centrepoint of the entire Townsville zone, with its golden beach that extends for a decent 2 kilometres along the coast. The palm trees dotting the beach cut a pretty picture as well. The beach is ringed by several playgrounds, cafes, ice cream vendors, restaurants and many other attractions as well. The port views could be the only bugbear, but everything else combines to make this one of the top beaches in Townsville for sure.

2. Cape Pallarenda

You will love the greenery and remote location of this stunning beach for sure. This gives you stunning views of the Castle Hill and also the city itself. Many travellers come here for walking down the charming pathways and also for going mountain biking. Yet, the beaches here also deserve special mention. Another factor that also works to make Cape Pallarenda one of the top Townsville Australia beaches is the conservation park here. This houses 200+ bird species and is a sheer treat to behold as well.

3. Rowes Bay

Travellers can access this lovely beach by going northwards and beyond the Kissing Point. Rowes Bay, while not the ultimate beach out there, is still located strategically and near the city as well. There is a neat caravan park that you will find here too. It is a good place to spend some time.

4. Bushland Beach

This beach is also worth checking out towards the fringes of Townsville. The suburban beach has numerous residential units dotting it till the Bruce Highway. It is one of those Townsville Australia beaches that are equipped with outlets retailing beverages, ice creams, and even a charming little pub and barbecue provisions.

5. Toolakea Beach

Toolakea Beach is something of a pristine residential zone. It is lined with homes on the coastline and there are no such stores or outlets in proximity to the area. Yet, there are great picnicking possibilities here. The low tide means that a lot of the beach becomes visible and starts getting better once people move northwards.

6. Saunders Beach

Visitors appreciate this beach for its pristine and tranquil community. The development here is quaint and the beach remains clean and pleasant overall. There are 6 kilometres of lovely sands here and hardly a soul around at most times. There is only a tiny store for essentials. People can also camp overnight here if they wish. Toilets are also accessible from the place. Some Townsville serviced apartments may also be found nearby in the more connected areas of the city.

7. Balgal Beach

This beach is one of the best ones in Townsville. You have to venture around 60 kilometres to the north although the drive is worth it, once you arrive. It is ideal for a city day trip or weekend sojourn. It is the only beach in this direction with swimming zones and patrolling. Yet, swimming in the nearby estuary is not advisable at all for safety reasons. There is a store and licensed café that you can frequent here, with their wonderful fish and chips. Camping provisions are also available at Rollingstone Creek and also at the beach.

8. Toomulla

Toomulla Beach is another pristine option that visitors will fall in love with. This is perhaps the most remote and secluded option out of the beaches in Townsville. It is ideal for those who are avid bird watchers and also people who love fishing. Camping facilities are also available here for everyone.
