What’s your opinion about sf? If that’s the case, you’re eager to check out the many science fiction films scheduled to be released this year and beyond. In contrast, there is a tonne of upcoming and recently released science fiction films that you may still need to catch up on. Without further ado, here are the next five science fiction films we can’t wait to see in theaters.
Many successful science fiction films were released in 2017, including Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Arrival, and the long-awaited return of Star Trek to the big screen. With the release of so many highly anticipated films, 2017 promises to be an exciting year for science fiction enthusiasts.

Alien: Covenant
Alien: Covenant is Ridley Scott’s return to his successful science fiction horror series. On May 19, the film will be released to the public. The sequel to Marvel’s 2014 surprise smash, Guardians of the Galaxy, starring Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, and Dave Bautista as Drax, opens in cinemas on May 5. James Gunn directs (Slither).
Filmmaker Daniel Espinosa’s Life revolves around a group of astronauts discovering a type of life on the International Space Station that is fast developing and may pose a danger to Earth. The release date is March 24, and it stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Rebecca Ferguson, and Ryan Reynolds. Watch that movie at 7starhd.
The sequel, War for the Planet of the Apes, takes place two years after the events of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and follows Caesar (Andy Serkis) as he leads his apes into battle against an army headed by Colonel McCullough (Woody Harrelson). The release date of War for the Planet of the Apes is July 14.
Blade Runner 2049
The sequel to Ridley Scott’s 1982 blockbuster Blade Runner is set to be released on October 6, 2017. Harrison Ford will be back as Rick Deckard, while Ryan Gosling will play Officer K. The first Blade Runner 2049 trailer debuted in July at Comic-Con and did not disappoint. I can’t wait to see their interpretation of it! Caesar, played by Andy Serkis once again, leads an ape army against the Colonel, played by Woody Harrelson. The Dark Tower
Adaptations of Stephen King’s dark fantasy novels include performances by Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey. On August 4, 2017, the film was scheduled to open in theatres. The trilogy that started with Rise of the Planet of the Apes and continues with Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will culminate with War for the Planet of the Apes. Caesar, the ape rebel leader, will be played once again by Andy Serkis.
On July 14, 2017, the film was scheduled for release. In cinemas now is Blade Runner 2049, the sequel to Ridley Scott’s 1982 science fiction masterpiece. Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling, and Jared Leto are all set to reprise their roles as Rick Deckard. On October 6, 2017, the film will finally hit theatres.

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets
The French comic book series on which Valerian and Laureline are based follows two agents who roam the galaxy on business. Valerian and Laureline, directed by Luc Besson, were made for science fiction fans: in addition to Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne, Besson’s ensemble features Clive Owen, Ethan Hawke, and Rutger Hauer.

The date of the release is set on October 6, 2017.
Star Wars Episode VIII – The Last Jedi
This is the seventh instalment of Lucasfilm’s space opera. Rey (Daisy Ridley), a young woman with a strong connection to the Force, begins her journey with Jedi Master Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). The release date is slated for December 15, and Rian Johnson is in charge of the directing. Also set for release in 2018 is a film about a young Han Solo, presumably directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (The Lego Movie).
A Gamer Is Ready: The film, directed by Steven Spielberg and based on Ernest Cline’s 2011 book of the same name, stars Tye Sheridan as Wade Watts, a teenager in the year 2045. Most of his time is spent inside OASIS, a massive virtual reality realm populated by millions of users, where he spends time chatting and playing games with his friends. When OASIS inventor James Halliday passes away without a direct descendant, he reveals that whoever discovers three secret keys will take control of the virtual world.
