Romantic weekend in the mountains in a mountain hut. Chalet or in a hotel with spa, perhaps with a panoramic view of the mountains.
This is how I imagine a sweet winter weekend. Between log cabins and hotels with spas. Where I can switch off and regenerate myself. Wooden rooms with soft duvets, lighted fireplaces. Perhaps a hot tub under a starry sky, and of course a hot chocolate in your hands.
What about a spa or a massage room. Perfect after a day of skiing and a sweet rest in huts. Chalets in the heart of the mountains in northern Italy.
I have found some very nice addresses to organize a romantic weekend in the mountains in winter. The more classic “white week” holiday which usually takes place between January and February.
I chose based on my personal taste, reviews. I selected locations I know and addresses suggested by those who have been there. Some have rather high rates, especially on the occasion of the Immaculate Conception on December 8.
Living in the province of Cuneo, I concentrated on huts and chalets in Northern Italy. Preferring places that are closer to me, such as Valle d’Aosta. Lombardy and Piedmont itself, which can also be reached only for a romantic weekend. For a longer holiday in the snow, I thought instead of the most classic of destinations, Trentino. But also of some places in Veneto.
In the heart of the Gran Paradiso Park. The Bellevue hotel is housed in a traditional mountain house. And has everything one would expect for a romantic weekend in a mountain hut.
Wooden rooms, some with fireplace and private Jacuzzi. A spa with panoramic views, indoor pools and saunas. As well as a gourmet restaurant awarded with a Michelin star. Thanks to a tempting offer, a couple of friends have been here not long ago. They confirm that it really is an ideal place to switch off. Rates start from around €200 per room per night, depending on the period.
Nestled in a forest, Chalet Eden is a perfect address for a romantic weekend. In the mountains without too much luxury and at an affordable price.
Strictly wooden furniture, rooms with fireplace. A massage and relaxation area, and an apartment with an attic room with beautiful exposed beams! Prices? €120 for a small room and €160 for a suite. Which I recommend, the price per room per night found for November.
And for sports enthusiasts who want to spend the day skiing and on the splendid slopes of the area. The chalet also offers a shuttle service to the ski lifts which are very close.
Imagine the view of the Mont Blanc massif, a cup of hot tea in hand. A wellness center where you can regenerate yourself with hammam, massages and beauty treatments. Add decidedly low-budget prices, because in some periods the room starts from €80 per night.
Where’s the trick? Well the difficulty Love Travel lies in finding a place because it is always full!

This location has everything I desire for a sweet weekend in the mountains at a cabin.
Wrapped in the heart of the mountains, when they are snow capped it is pure magic! Huts all in wood with very nice rooms, and a hyper-modern and inviting wellness area. The nice thing is that from the hotel you can reach the center of Champoluc. With a free shuttle service by jeep or motorbike. ok it’s not that you are pulled by a sled with dogs. I know, but the landscape is really suggestive and the services of the structure are at the top.
Here too it is not easy to find availability, especially during the holiday periods. The rates start from around 240 euros per room, but if you can leave during the week, or anticipate the weekend for example from Thursday to Saturday. You have more luck in finding a place . Although, personally, I would stay here a few more days. Because it really is the essence of a romantic mountain holiday in a chalet.
