Traditional Showstyle marching bands are the focus of four great events across the country this fall as USBands expands opportunities for students to perform and receive feedback participating in this culturally significant genre of the Marching Arts activity.

The 2022 Traditional Showstyle Season Presented by Ludwig Musser steps-off on Sunday, October 9 with the Southeast Showdown at the Crampton Bowl in Montgomery, AL, hosted by Brandon Howard and Huntingdon College.
The action moves to Virginia and Texas the following weekend for two great events. Prairie View A&M University in Texas is the site forr the second annual Show Up and Show Out on the Hill on Saturday, October 15 hosted by Dr. Timmey Zachery and the Prairie View A&M music program, while Sunday, October 16 is on the calendar as Virginia State University in Petersburg, VA and Taylor Whitehead hosts the Showdown on the Hill at Rogers Stadium for bands in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Finally, the 2022 Traditional Showstyle Season concludes at John H. Baker Stadium in Raleigh, NC as the Showdown in the Capitol hosted by Gary M.Bryant on Saturday, November 5 caps the season for bands in the Carolinas and beyond.
Errick Prince, Coordinator of USBands Traditional Showstyle Events said in announcing the events, “We are excited to be able to provide these events designed specifically for the Showstyle bands to provide performance opportunities as well as educational feedback based on the performance, style and techniques the students bring to the field. Our adjudicators are deeply engaged in this genre and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to making events educational for students and entertaining for fans.”
Adjudication panels for the events will be composed of professional educators, instructors and designers from throughout the Traditional Showstyle activity and will participate in USBands training and resource-sharing prior to the events.

Washington High School (FL), Shawn Murphy: Prairie View A&M University, Director of the Black Foxes, Desiree Hunter: former North Carolina A&T Golden Delight Captain, Julian Luke: Reed Middle School (TX), Clayton Parker: Colorguard Designer, Maya Angelou: former Prairie View A&M University, Black Foxes Captain (TX), Ryan Lincey: Lovejoy High School (GA).
