Baden Baden, Germany is the host to one of the most popular all-you-can-eat buffet restaurants in the world. But how can you stuff yourself at the all-you-can-eat buffet in Baden Baden without going home with a stomachache? Read on to find out…
The trick is eating slowly
There are a few tricks that I’ve learned over the years, and I’m happy to share them with you. My favorite trick is eating slowly. It may seem obvious, but I don’t know how many times I was brought back from my food coma by the server asking me if I wanted more. The truth is, if you take your time and enjoy your food, you’ll feel satisfied and not as likely to overeat. If you’re sitting down for an all-you-can eat buffet, this also allows you time to digest your food before taking on more.
Have a glass of water between bites
One of my favorite foods is a good buffet. I love getting to choose whatever I want and not have any restrictions on how much I can eat. However, with buffets, it’s so easy to overeat that you might feel sick or get a stomach ache afterward. To avoid this, my lyn is to drink water between bites. Water helps fill you up so you won’t be tempted to eat more than your body needs. It also helps your digestion process by making sure your body absorbs all nutrients from the food instead of absorbing all liquids.
Have a spoonful of something healthy
I’ll admit, I’m a big fan of buffets. They’re such a great value for all you can eat. Plus, there are so many options, so it’s just impossible not to find something that you’ll love. My favorite buffet is this place called The Golden Dragon in Pensacola. It’s got everything from sushi and ramen noodles to fried chicken and mashed potatoes with gravy. And when it comes to desserts, they’ve got a bunch of ice cream flavors, apple pie, cheesecake…you name it. And the best part? You can’t overeat because they only let you keep eating as long as your plate is clean! But sometimes when I’m really hungry, I want to stuff myself silly–which is why my family loves going to the Baden Baden All-You-Can-Eat Buffet! They don’t limit how much you can eat and there are tons of different foods that we like.
Don’t fill up on bread
I stuffed myself silly with a variety of different dishes. I started with a serving of my lyn, a stew made from pig’s head and feet. I followed that up with some meaty schnitzel and then ordered some dumplings for dessert. The only thing I didn’t have was any vegetables or salad, which is probably why my stomach felt so full! I wasn’t even hungry for dinner when I got back home because all I wanted to do was lie down.
Get seconds (but don’t get thirds!)
I was so excited when I heard that there was a new all you can eat buffet opening up near my house. I had heard that it’s all about stuffing yourself and enjoying it and boy was I ready for some food. When I walked into the establishment, it felt like walking into a different world. It didn’t feel like any other restaurant or diner I had ever been to before. There were people coming from every direction carrying plates of food as they headed back to their tables, talking and laughing with each other as they passed by me.
