On the Gold Coast you can use the traditional modes of public transport like the bus, train or ferry, or you can hire a scooter to ride around Surfers Paradise and Coolangatta in style.
Shuttle buses run from the Gold Coast Coolangatta Airport and take you to your accommodation or to any of the theme parks you want to visit. There are more than 60 bus routes operating seven days a week.
For surfers, the Gold Coast’s main bus line Surfside has an extensive route system and timetable.

By ready to jump in the new G: light rail system that operates from 5am to midnight on weekdays and throughout the weekends. The route connects Gold Coast University Hospital, Southport, Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach.
BRISBANE
One of the biggest cities in Australia, Brisbane has a great transport system including the iconic CityCat and CityFerry network. You can also discover great trips on the CityCats by watching the CityCat journey videos.
CITYCAT AND FERRY SERVICES
These services run from The University of Queensland at St Lucia to Northshore Hamilton and offer great views enjoyed by tourists and commuters.
CityCats operate seven days a week with regular services every 13 minutes for most of the day, and express routes and more frequent services during peak times.
GO CARD
Go Card is the perfect way to travel around the city by bus, train or ferry. You just need to top up the card balance and you’ll have access to all transportation, and after your 9th trip in a week the rest of the trips are free! F
FREE TRANSPORT
In the inner city you can jump on the City Loop or Spring Hill Loop to go on weekdays to the CBD for free!
BUSES
Bus services run throughout the city, linking the outer and inner suburbs to the CBD, railway stations and ferry terminals. Enjoy the special NightLink bus services running after midnight on Fridays and Saturdays for late-night travellers.
TRAINS
Brisbane’s electric trains have the region covered and provide direct access to the city, different precincts, and outer suburbs. TheAirtrain service is completely integrated into the Queensland Rail suburban network, and has regular trains operating from Brisbane Airport to Brisbane City and the Gold Coast.
BIKES
Brisbane’s beautiful climate is perfect to discover the city by bike. There are extensive bicycle paths throughout the city that will allow you to keep fit and save money! Rent a CityCycle bike at key inner-city locations and prepare to explore.
ADELAIDE
Apart from the main public transport links such as rail, bus and tram, Adelaide is now the only Australian city with a suburban rail network which is not electrified and the lines are operated by diesel railcars. A free bus service also loops around the central area of the city from Monday to Saturday.
You can also catch the Adelaide Connector, a free minibus service that runs between Adelaide and North Adelaide and does a circuit of each. This service operates every hour in both directions seven days a week, but does not run on public holidays.
There is also a tram which runs every 15 minutes on a 10km route that takes half an hour. The route was originally built as a railway line that opened in 1873, and electric trams were introduced on 14 December 1929. The trams have been running here ever since, and are a great way for tourists to see the city.
If you are getting around Adelaide, a one-day ticket will give you access to buses, trains and trams and is the best value for money. There are also two-hour tickets available to use across all modes of public transport. Otherwise, you can take advantage of Adelaide’s great free public transport system.
If you are planning a visit to Adelaide, or if you are planning to move there, visit the Transport Information Centre, or designated tickets sales agents such as post offices, newsagents, shops or one of the manned railway stations. Be aware that some tickets need to be bought in advance.
PERTH
If you’re visiting Perth, Transperth transperth.wa.gov.au provides public transport services within the Perth metropolitan area, with an integrated bus, train and ferry network that will take you to the main points of interest and tourist attractions. With the SmartRider card you can use any combination of bus, train and ferry services to different parts of the city and save money.
If you are in Perth, don’t miss the ferry ride to Rottnest Island. You can ride a bike and spend the day exploring this island paradise where you can see kangaroos and go swimming with turtles and sting rays.
You can also take a train to Fremantle and visit the famous Fremantle Market where you can see street artists and performers while you shop.
Transperth provides timetables in a variety of formats, including timetables that you can download and view on your mobile phone.
CAT BUSES
CAT are the Central Area Transit buses which are free and run around the CBD, where most of our accommodation is located. You can get on and off without paying and commute while saving money. Check the timetables online and plan your trip!
