Before I get started let me say that I believe there is nothing wrong with having a Fat Freezing Through Cryolipolysis Actually Work on your body. Being overweight is not necessarily a bad thing and having fat on your body does not make you “fat” (as much as society may try to convince us otherwise). I really believe that you should appreciate your body for what it can accomplish for you not simply for how it appears.

Having said that I also strongly believe in working on yourself, FOR yourself and engaging in activities that will help you feel your best and most confident. And if doing so necessitates making cosmetic changes, so be it! I also enjoy using myself as a test subject for various treatments so I can inform people about what they entail and whether they are worthwhile investing their time and money in.

How Does Freezing Work?

Cryolipolysis is meant to operate by destroying your fat cells, which sounds a little gruesome. In essence, it causes the death of fat cells by cooling them to freezing temperatures. Unlike the protagonists in Bold and the Beautiful, once these fat cells have died, they cannot be revived. You can still develop new fat cells in that area if you gain weight which is why I think a lot of people are skeptical of CoolSculpting. You can only keep the results if your weight and body fat percentage remain stable.

For Who Does Fat Freezing?

It’s crucial to remember that not everyone can benefit from cryolipolysis. It is intended for persons who are normally at or slightly above their ideal weight but have fat bulges that don’t go away with diet and exercise.

I was a perfect candidate for CoolTech because I’ve always been on the thinner side of a “normal” BMI (but what even is normal, really?). However, I have a stubborn pocket of fat on my lower stomach.

This annoying little “pooch” has always protrud outward and given me a soft and rounded appearance even when I was extremely slender. I thought I’d give it a try to see if CoolTech could help me get rid of my little bulge once and for all even though this is COMPLETELY fine, normal, and healthy. It can be frustrating because it prevents me from seeing the true results of my hard work (on the occasions where I have worked hard.

My Cryolipolysis Experience

I was a little anxious about the CoolTech procedure because, after all, my fat was being practically frozen off! But the sweet ladies at North Shore Aesthetics immediately calmed me down and set my mind at ease. We began with a consultation during which we discussed the “problem” region, took measurements, and took pictures. I was then led into a room where I changed into a comfortable robe after stripping down to my underwear and a pair of really attractive disposable shorts.

Next, the technicians measured and marked my treatment area with callipers. Then they placed a chilly sheet on my stomach that somewhat resemble and feel like the freezer bags you use to keep your food cold. This initially came as a bit of a shock.

They then placed the Cooltech hand-piece on my treatment region after firing (or should we say cooling!?) it up. Since the applicators essentially suction your fat in with a vacuum pressure, this did initially seem a little weird. This resulted in a cold sensation that was accompanied by a tight, cramping feeling, which was really uncomfortable. As I sit there feeling like a frigid, vacuum-packed sausage, I did start to wonder what I had gotten myself into.

Even so it wasn’t intolerable and after about 15 minutes when the area became numb from the cold, the discomfort faded. The technicians provide me a warm beverage and a blanket, and those things definitely helped! I was able to use my laptop during the treatment which lasted roughly 70 minutes overall (although I wouldn’t advocate trying to do that as it was a bit of a challenge). I should have simply relaxed (literally!)

The technicians then returned when the timer rang and took away the applicator. When I realized that the square-shaped pouch of pink flesh that looked like a salmon fillet was actually my fat it was terrifying! However as the technician massaged it out, it rapidly started to appear somewhat more normal.

I had a 30-minute Tesla Former session on the same area after my CoolTech treatment because it is stated that combining the two treatments will enhance the effects. These resemble tiny discs that attach to the area and contract the muscles with a pulsed magnetic field.

According to report they can produce 50,000 contractions in a 30-minute session which is about similar to performing 50,000 crunches (which is not something I can really imagine myself ever doing myself)

Even though they recommend 6 to 8 treatments spread out over 3 to 4 weeks you can probably only expect modest gains from only one session. However you can image the kind of results you’d get by doing this frequently. But I decided it was worthwhile to try. Isn’t it go hard or go home?

It’s challenging to describe how this treatment feels. The sensation was akin to brief, harmless electric shocks that were followed by intervals of vibration. After the CoolTech treatment, it didn’t hurt at all—in fact it felt like a soothing massage—but it did seem like my ab muscles were working quite hard.

Does Discomfort Persist After Cryolipolysis?

Everyone experiences treatment of this kind in such a unique way. The technicians warn that although there was no downtime there might be a few small side effects like cramp nausea or tingling following the procedure. Although I didn’t experience any of those the treated region remained slightly red, stiff, and sore for about a week after the procedure. Additionally, it simply seemed like an intense ab workout that I may have done with the TeslaFormer.

My Cryolipolysis Outcomes

I was skeptical about the efficacy of fat freezing after reading conflicting reviews before to my procedure. In fact, I was fully expecting it to fail. I’m happy to say that the CoolTech treatment did produce results, though!

The outcomes, according to other people, sort of sneak up on you. When you look in the mirror you don’t notice any incremental changes but one day you realize that part is kind of just…gone! That is what took place to me. I notice when I glanced in the mirror one morning that I no longer had that rounded-ness in the lower belly around the four-week mark (it takes a month to see full results).

The CoolTech treatment is claim to result in a 30% reduction of fat in that area and I would say that’s pretty accurate. I still don’t have shredded abs but the area now just looks a little bit more consistently flat (rather than having that projecting aspect).

It’s important to note that I recently began intermittent fasting and have kept up with it around the time of my treatment. I have followed similar regimens in the past, but nothing has ever successfully eliminated my “pooch” like this has, despite the fact that I have lost a large amount of body fat.

Cryolipolysis: Is It Worthwhile?

Did my CoolTech treatment have any results? Yes, unexpectedly so! Would I suggest it to anybody and everyone? No. I would never suggest the procedure to someone who isn’t already eating comparatively healthily, exercising, AND working on their mindset to embrace their body in any state. (Yes, I am aware that you may be a larger person and still be fit and healthy (pooches of fat, or not)
