A young father earning 17 cents an hour at Eastman Kodak Company in the spring of 1938 made the decision he needed to boost his income in order to sustain his family. He achieved this by working weekends at a modest roadside stand close to his Webster, New York, home, where he sold soda drink and hot dogs. bill gray’s henrietta was the name of the young man.

Good things started to happen now that Bill and Alberta could give their modest restaurant business all of their attention. They were able to increase the size of their eatery, add menu items (such as ground steak sandwiches, cheeseburgers, French fries, etc.), draw in a ton of new clients, and grow their family by adding eleven kids in total!! Bill Gray’s flourished and expanded over the years while offering top-notch customer service. Up until 1959, the Gray family ran their business out of their original Webster location on Ridge Road. Then they relocated to the “Round Up,” a bigger, more up-to-date building on East Henrietta Road in the town of Henrietta.
Partnership And Corporation Called Bill Gray’s Incorporated
Bill left the Henrietta restaurant in 1963 to work for Bruce Hegedorn, a longtime friend and Webster neighbor. Bill and Bruce teamed up in 1965 to open a brand-new Bill Gray’s Restaurant on Route 104 in Ontario. They also organized a partnership and corporation called bill gray’s henrietta Incorporated. Bill opened a second store on Culver Road in Sea Breeze the same year.
Using the same dedication to quality and customer service that Bill Grays established in 1938, Bill, Alberta, and various family members worked for the following twelve years to make Bill Gray’s one of the most well-known restaurants in the Rochester area.
Popularity And Success Brought About Growth
Popularity and success brought about growth. Only a few hundred yards from the original Bill Gray’s location, on Hard Rd. in Webster, Bill Gray’s opened its third location in 1978. In the ensuing thirty years, Bill Gray’s expanded (and occasionally decreased) its existing 16 locations
